Bemz
BBC Introducing Stage
On a sweltering Friday afternoon at TRNSMT 2025 as the festival buzzed with anticipation for headliner 50 Cent, it was Bemz who delivered one of the day’s most electrifying and emotionally charged performances—sealing his BBC Introducing set with an Irish flag draped over his shoulders and a legacy clearly taking shape.
The Nigerian-born, Glasgow-raised rapper commanded the stage with infectious charisma and undeniable star power. From the opening notes of Bando 2 Studio complete with a sultry saxophone flourish, he had the crowd locked in. What followed was a masterclass in homegrown hip-hop: soulful, swaggering, and sure to get the crowd moving.
Backed by a tight five-piece band that laid down groove after groove, Bemz moved with the energy of someone who knew exactly how to command the stage, and the audience. During tracks like Raging Bull, it felt like Bemz truly wanted to connect with his fans in that moment. Sweat dripping, mic gripped tight, he paused only to acknowledge the heat and the love, both of which were abundant.
New collaborations, including DnD with The Snuts (who brought him onto the main stage for the first time three years prior), landed instantly. On a day stacked with rap royalty, Bemz didn’t just hold his own – he staked his claim as Glasgow’s newest hip-hop star.
